This is, in my opinion, one of the darkest bronzing sprays available, great for people with darker Tantones – I wouldn’t recommend it for lighter skin tones to avoid too drastic a skin colour change. Good news too, that it’s also non-comedogenic so it won’t clog your pores. Lasts 3-4 days.
This spray has an ingenious 360° nozzle which allows you to spray upside-down, making it ideal for getting to those hard-to-reach places such as behind the knees and on the back. It also has a colour guide so that you can see where you are spraying. But word to the wise: my finger did discolour slightly as the nozzle leaked and I was left with smokers finger for a couple days – I recommend you wear a latex glove when spraying. The overall tan though lasted about 2-3 days, it was a natural looking colour and the smell was quite pleasant too (all of St. Tropez’s products now have high-tech Aromaguard Technology that eliminates the smell of self-tan by up to 70%). A slightly stained, but nevertheless, enthusiastic thumbs up from me!
One of the only spray tans on the market that deepens in colour 3 days after initial application, which is great for people going on holiday. The colour is golden but natural looking and I found myself getting comments from people on how great I looked (never a bad thing). This is a pump spray so not as easy to apply like other sprays but if sprayed directly onto a tanning mitt and buffed into skin, the results are amazing. It’s very pricey compared to other sprays but, given that it lasted 5-6 days, in my opinion it’s worth every penny.
Rodial Brazilian Tan Airbrush – Marketed as the darkest tan on the market (the jury is still out on that one, as far as I am concerned), it develops into a gorgeous golden colour that lasts 4-5 days, which is a long time in the tanning world. The formula was extremely hydrating thanks to the Coconut Oil and Aloe Vera ingredients. I also really enjoyed the gardenia fragrance, which allows you to be able to tan-and-go and won’t leave a nasty tell-tale tanning fragrance. The spray was easy to control and I got two full-body applications out of one bottle. A higher price point than other tans, but well worth the money for a rich colour and great scent.
Hands down, one of the best sprays I have ever used and available in two shades (Light and Medium) it caters to everyone. The nozzle is designed to give you the same effect as having a professional spray tan at-home and is totally genius. This product sprays on clear and the colour will deepen as the day goes on, but it still looks natural all the while. I recommend misting on a second layer for an extra boost of colour. It has a citrus fragrance so you can wear the tan out and about – I have coined this new trend “Tan and Go”. I found it lasts for 3-4 days and fades evenly and (as if that wasn’t all already very fabulous) it is incredibly inexpensive.
