Editor Vogue.com reveals her Tanning and fashion secrets.
Do you use self tan?
Yes, I love it – it makes me feel like the holidays have arrived and it definitely puts me in a weekend mood.
What tanning brands do you use?
Usually St Tropez, but I love Clarins too.
What make up products do you swear by?
I love Chanel’s Radiance Serum and foundation compacts. Benefit’s boing concealer is great to have in your handbag too.
Do you use bronzers to enhance a tan and if so which brands?
I don’t usually use bronzers unless I’m on holiday – I prefer to use a highlighter if anyhting, otherwise I’m worried I’ll look in the mirror and suddenly find I’m too brown. I have very pale Irish skin so I can’t over do it.
Do you feel tanning has become more fashionable?
I think it’s become more accepted as people have learned to apply it properly.
Do you think the days of the over dark tans are over?
Yes, it’s less of a novelty now and people want to wear what suits them. the tan shouldn’t be a big statement, it just flatters the rest of your look.
What’s the new beauty trend this year?
It’s actually a season of very warm, bronze tones – perfect to compliment a tan in fact – but designers also really had fun with eye make – up, adding a swish of bright metallic blue or orange over the lids.
Have you found a big interest in tanning on Vogue.com?
I think most people love getting their tan right – the safer the better.
Name one make up accessory you can’t live without?
A Chanel compact. No handbag is complete without one.
Name one fashion accessory you could not be without?
I love my little handbags. Even when everybody else was collecting trunk – sized bags, I love little shoulder bags that carry the essentials.
