Editor of Grazia Magazine reveals her tanning and fashion secrets
What 2 tanning brands do you swear by?
St Tropez – an initial spray tan applied by James Read (while we have a good gossip!) and then a top – up of their wash – off product for my legs when I’m at the shows – or Bronzed Up if I’m going on holiday because it’s a more intense deeper colour and gives you that ‘just off the beach’ glow.
Do you have a Tanning Tip? i.e do you apply bronzers after a tan to enhance your glow?
St Tropez’s bronzing balls are brilliant highlighters for legs and your collar bone area if you want evening shimmer. Nars also have an amazing illuminator called Orgasm (!), which I mix in with normal body lotion, and Soleil Tan de Chanel is a fabulous, very natural liquid bronzer for your face.
Do you think tanning has become more fashionable?
I think it’s defintely shaken off its WAG factor – probably because products and treatments are so much more sophisticated and natural now. It’s actually quite hard to get Tango-ed these days.
Have you seen a big rise in tanning with your readers?
Well the UK uses more bronzing and fake tanning products than anywhere else in the world., which I guess is good news as I never hear anyone talking about sunbeds. They’re about as fashionable as a velor shell suit.
What Fashion shows are you most excited about at this year?
Homegrown talent like Christopher Kane, Erdem and Peter Pilotto have really stormed the fashion scene over the past couple of seasons so I’m really looking forward to seeing what they’ve got in store at London Fashion Week. And I always look forward to Chanel Karl Lagerfeld sure knows how to create a fashion moment. Lilly Allen with her band from a haystack last season will take some beating.
Name one Fashion item you can’t live without?
My Louis Vuitton scarf. It takes me from the school run to the office to the front row.
